Michael Cohen, U.S. President Donald Trump\u2019s former personal attorney, has released a foreword to his new book in which he calls the president \u201ca fraud, a bully, a racist, a predator, a con man,\u201d and accuses him of cheating in the 2016 presidential election.<\/p>\n

Cohen also makes reference to \u201cgolden showers in a sex club in Vegas,\u201d without specifically stating that the president took part in such acts, and alludes to \u201ccatch and kill conspiracies to silence Trump\u2019s clandestine lovers.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cApart from his wife and children, I knew Trump better than anyone else did,\u201d Cohen wrote in the foreword to the book Disloyal, which was released on Thursday.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn some ways, I knew him better than even his family did because I bore witness to the real man, in strip clubs, shady business meetings, and in the unguarded moments when he revealed who he really was: a cheat, a liar, a fraud, a bully, a racist, a predator, a con man,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The foreword of the book contains several serious allegations against the president.<\/p>\n

Cohen claims that the investigation into the Trump campaign\u2019s links to Russia was \u201cnot a witch hunt,\u201d and that his former boss willingly accepted the help of Russia.<\/p>\n

\u201cTrump had cheated in the election, with Russian connivance, as you will discover in these pages, because doing anything \u2014 and I mean anything \u2014 to \u2018win\u2019 has always been his business model and way of life,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cTrump had also continued to pursue a major real estate deal in Moscow during the campaign. He attempted to insinuate himself into the world of President Vladimir Putin and his coterie of corrupt billionaire oligarchs. I know because I personally ran that deal and kept Trump and his children closely informed of all updates,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

Cohen, who previously described himself as Trump\u2019s personal \u201cfixer\u201d, was handed a three-year prison sentence in 2018 for lying to the U.S. Congress and campaign finance violations involving hush money to women who have claimed to have had affairs with the president.<\/p>\n

Cohen was released from jail in May this year to serve the rest of his sentence at home as part of measures designed to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.<\/p>\n

He was briefly sent back to jail for allegedly violating the terms of his release by writing a tell-all book, before a judge ruled that it was \u201cretaliatory\u201d and therefore illegal.<\/p>\n

Trump\u2019s attorneys tried to block the release of the book, claiming Cohen had signed a non-disclosure agreement that prohibited him from talking about his work with the now-president.<\/p>\n

While he was behind bars, Cohen \u2013 while seeking home detention \u2013 wrote that he was an \u201cenabler\u201d for the Trump Organization, lured by its \u201cmagnetic, charismatic and powerful\u201d figurehead.<\/p>\n

In a six-page sworn affirmation filed in a U.S. District Court in December, Cohen said that everything he \u201cthought was important and valuable has been painfully revealed as derived\u201d from a \u201cFaustian bargain\u201d in which he cast the president as the Devil, to whom Cohen \u201csold his soul\u201d and \u201cfoolishly frittered away his integrity\u201d on behalf of the president.<\/p>\n

Cohen has repeated claims that his former boss cheated in the 2016 presidential election and \u201ccolluded\u201d with Russia.<\/p>\n

Cohen, in the foreword to his book said Trump \u201ccolluded with the Russians, but not in the sophisticated ways imagined by his detractors.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cohen\u2019s claims largely repeat similar accusations he has made in the past, which were denied by Trump with slight alterations.<\/p>\n

During his testimony to Congress in February last year, Cohen called Trump a \u201ccheat,\u201d and claimed he knew ahead of time about WikiLeaks\u2019s release of emails in 2016 that damaged his opponent Hillary Clinton\u2019s campaign.<\/p>\n

At the time, he said he \u201cwouldn\u2019t use the word colluding\u201d to describe his dealings with Russia, but added that there was \u201csomething odd\u201d about the president\u2019s relationship with Russian President Putin.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
